Ms.
Huffstetler was first elected to the IISD Board of Trustees in 1998 and
served two terms through 2004. She served as secretary for two years
from 1999 to 2001. Ms. Huffstetler regained her Place 7 seat in 2007.
She serves on the following Board Standing Committees: policy review
committee, and facilities & land committee (chair).
She is
owner of Ronda of the Plaza Salons, and is a lifelong resident of
Irving. Ms. Huffstetler attended cosmetology school in Knoxville,
Tennessee and returned to Irving where she has worked in the cosmetology
business for 30 years. She also served as a substitute teacher for two
years.
Her civic
and community activities include recently serving as president of the
Irving City Council of PTAs and secretary of the Sunrise Rotary Club. In
the past, she has also held numerous leadership positions in the
community, including PTA president at the school level and vice
president of programs for the Irving Council of PTAs. She has served as
deacon and elder at Irving North Christian Church, was a member of
Altrusa International, and has worked as a hospital volunteer. Ms.
Huffstetler was recognized for her service at Irving North Christian
Church and is a recipient of the Irving High Spirited Citizen Award.
She has
two sons, both are graduates of MacArthur High School.
