Mr. Hill was elected to the IISD Board
of Trustees after having both studied and taught in Irving ISD schools.
He was re-elected in 2005 for a second term. Mr. Hill was elected
President of the Board in May 2007. He serves on the following Board
Standing Committees: executive committee, chair; and finance committee.
He is a 1984 graduate of MacArthur
High School, earning a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of
North Texas in 1989 and a master’s degree in administration from UNT in
1999. Mr. Hill taught music and choir in the district for 11 years.
For the past six years, he has
served as minister of youth and music at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in
Irving. As a teacher, Mr. Hill was involved in several committees,
including campus improvement committees, PTA boards, and the
district-wide Staff Development Committee. He has served on the Board of
Directors of the Entertainment Series of Irving as well as the Irving
Schools Foundation.
Mr. Hill is married to Lisa Hill,
also a former IISD teacher. They have two children: Julio Polanco, a
2002 graduate of MacArthur High School and a student at UNT, and
Christian Hill, a 2-year-old.
