A.D. Jenkins was elected to the IISD Board of Trustees in May 2008. A
native of Waterproof, Louisiana, he came to Irving in 1987 in order to
attend DeVry University.
In
addition to his election to the Board of Trustees, Mr. Jenkins has
served Irving ISD as a member of the District Improvement Committee, the
Campus Improvement Committee for Stipes Elementary School, and the
Citizens’ Task Force for Bond Assessment. Mr. Jenkins serves on the
following Board Standing Committees: finance committee and personnel
committee (chair).
Mr.
Jenkins works as a software engineer and has been married to his wife,
Sherrie, for five years. He is a father of three sons and serves as
guardian for a fourth young man. His sons Tevyn and Jared, and his ward
Christian, attend school in Irving ISD. His third son, Cameron, lives in
Houston.
Mr.
Jenkins is the founder of the B.I.G.D.O.G.S. youth organization,
headquartered in Irving, Texas.
