Mrs. Jones was elected to the IISD
Board of Trustees in May 2006. Her background includes being an active
volunteer for Irving ISD, serving on PTA boards at the three schools
attended by her children – Lee Elementary School, Travis Middle School,
and MacArthur High School.
Mrs. Jones was elected Secretary
of the Board in May 2007. She serves on the following Board Standing
Committees: executive committee, personnel committee, and curriculum,
instruction and student committee.
She has been the Lee PTA secretary
and the Travis PTA president and also served on the District Excellence
Now Committee and the District Parent Advisory Committee. Mrs. Jones
also served as secretary of the Irving Schools Foundation Board of
Directors and remains a board member.
Mrs. Jones serves as director of
women’s ministries at Calvary Church in Irving, where her husband is a
pastor. She also enjoys being the mentor mom for the Mothers of
Preschoolers (MOPS) group that meets at Calvary Church.
She and her husband, Kerry, are both
MacArthur High School graduates. They have been married 23 years and
have four children. Their oldest, Lesley, is a 2006 MacArthur High
School graduate. Lacey, Austin and Justin all currently attend IISD
schools.
