Patty Rodriguez, Principal
Patty Rodriguez, an educator of more than 21 years is the Principal of Cardwell Career Preparatory Center.
“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity Irving ISD has given me to serve as the Principal of Cardwell Career Preparatory Center,” says Rodriguez. “I appreciate the trust the district has in me to move the school forward. I cannot wait to serve the students and our community.”
Rodriguez most recently served as Associate Principal of Nimitz High School. She also held the same role at Irving High School for four years and was Assistant Principal at MacArthur High School for a year and in Dallas ISD for four years.
Rodriguez was also a Science Facilitator in Garland ISD and Instructional Coach in Dallas ISD. She began her career in 2002 as a Science Teacher in Dallas ISD.
She earned a master’s degree in Leadership and a bachelor’s degree in Biology, both from Texas A&M University - Commerce.

Anna Trevino, Assistant Principal
Ms. Trevino is one of the proudest members of the Fightin’ Texas Aggie class of 2006 where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Middle School Math and Science. She earned her Masters of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Cameron University in Oklahoma.
With 14 years of experience, Ms. Trevino most recently served as Math Interventionist at Austin Middle School in Irving ISD. Throughout her educational career, Ms. Trevino has taught math and science while coaching different girls’ sports in El Paso, Texas, and served as the Instructional Coach for Anadarko Middle School in Oklahoma.
Ms. Trevino is excited to have the opportunity to continue to work with our Irving students, parents and community. Ms. Trevino understands the unique features that Cardwell offers to students and hopes to offer her input and ideas to further cultivate a culture of learning where all students can be successful.

Marla Rhodes, Dean of Students
Marla Rhodes is honored to serve Barbara Cardwell as the Dean of Students. She grew up in Irving and is a proud product of Irving ISD. After graduating from Texas Tech University, she began her teaching career in Eula, Texas. While it was a great experience, her heart wanted to be back home, so she joined the staff at Crockett Middle School in 1994. She then had the privilege of opening the campus at Lady Bird Johnson Middle School in 2011 where she served as the AVID Teacher and Coordinator for 7 years. With over 20 years experience in Irving ISD, Ms. Rhodes is thankful for the opportunities to positively impact students and looks forward to working with the students, parents and faculty at Cardwell. She is a student advocate and is committed to helping students achieve their goals.
In her spare time, Ms. Rhodes enjoys her friends and family. She is a football fanatic, a game show junkie, she enjoys spending time at the beach and loves to read.
