It is time for the 2009-2010 Irving ISD Media Fair! Have you created a fun or interesting project you would like to submit? Ask a teacher to sponsor you and submit your entry to http://www.irvingisd.net/campusmediafair/ by 3:00PM on December 8th. This year's categories are animation, desktop publishing, digital audio, digital video, multimedia, photography,original illustrated art, product design and website design. STEPPING UP (and Out) COLLEGE TOURS

Irving Parks & Recreation and Lively Pointe are hosting college tours in November. If you are interested in touring a college campus, then this is a great opportunity for you. Transportation is provided from Lively Pointe (across from Irving High School). Participants should bring money for food, and space is limited.

TEXAS CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY will be Saturday, November 28 from 11:00 am 'til 4:00 pm. Tour will leave Lively Pointe at 10:00 am. This tour includes attending the 1:00 pm football game. Call Lively Pointe at 972.721.8090 to register.

Criminal Justice Competition Training Days

These days will be the days training takes place on until the Skills USA competition and TPSA competitions start.

Monday: Building Search Criminal Incident

Thursday: Fingerprinting, Forensics (Criminal Investigation)

Friday: Tryouts for Obstacle Course Male/Female/Team

Health and Human Services Center Volunteer Opportunity

The Health and Human Services Center is looking for volunteers. The center needs a team of volunteers by Thanksgiving break. Volunteers will be asked to do multiple objectives. There will be free food, great work experience, and looks great on any resume or college application.

Increasing influenza Activity in Dallas County

Influenza season has begun earlier than usual this fall in Dallas County. Cases of influenza are on the rise and expected to increase as we move into the influenza, or �flu� season. As expected with influenza increasingly circulating in Dallas County, cases of influenza-like illnesses may be increasingly reported in students and staff. As in past influenza seasons, the health and safety of all children are a priority for each school community.
