Becky Scherschell, our own Council Liaison, having previously been awarded a Texas PTA Life Membership was awarded a Texas PTA Extended Service Award

Mickie Cox, our honorary webmaster, having already received the Texas PTA Life Membership Award, the Texas PTA Extended Service award and the National PTA Life Achievement Award was awarded a brick which is to be engraved and will become part of the Texas PTA Recognition Square located outside the historic Texas PTA State Office in Austin, TX

Texas PTA Youth Awards Ceremony
“Take Dad Out to the Ballgame!”

On June 18, Texas PTA will recognize the students who have participated in the Reflections Program, the Environmental Awareness Contest and other PTA youth programs. Participants whose work advanced to the state level will be honored in a ceremony and exhibit at the Legends of the Game Museum at Ameriquest Field in Arlington.

Who is invited? Everyone: the students, their family and friends, PTA volunteers and anyone who supports these talented young people.

When? Sunday, June 18, 2006. Museum doors will open at 10:30 a.m. with awards ceremonies beginning at 11:00 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 noon. The baseball game between the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondback follows at 1:05 p.m.

The Academy of Irving ISD PTSA, Monday, November 7, 6-6:15 pm. The unit's regular meeting is at 6:15-6:30 and the Hispanic Family Night follows our celebration and meeting.

The Academy PTSA Christmas tree at the Irving Arts Center won 2nd place in the judging.
