Strong
points about Austin Middle School
Austin Middle School was identified as one of the "Best of the
Best," a top middle school in the state in the November 2001
issue of Texas Monthly magazine. In the article titled "How
Good is Your Kid's School?," Austin was also identified as a
five star school, meaning that we are in the top 20 percent in our
socioeconomic group. Austin was one of only two schools in the IISD
listed as a Top School in the State. For more information, visit the
Just for the Kids Web site just4kids.org or the Texas Monthly Web
site www.texasmonthly.com. We are proud to be recognized for our
achievements and academic success.
Our campus has a current "Recognized" rating. This
rating measures our school effectiveness in several areas, including
academic achievement and attendance. It is issued yearly by
the Texas Education Agency.
