Information
The Board of Trustees hold
regular meeting, which are open to the public, at 7 pm in the Boardroom of the
Administration
Building at 2621 W. Airport Freeway. Work sessions are also held at noon
on regular meetings days at the same location.
In accordance with the Texas
Open Meeting Law, the Board has the privilege of meeting privately in
executive session to discuss matters related to personnel, land
acquisition, student hearings and to consult with legal counsel. A
majority of the Board constitutes a quorum for the transaction of
business.
When necessary the Board
schedules other public meetings (special meetings, emergency meetings
and work sessions) to conduct additional business and for in-depth study
of programs and issues.
Advance notices of all meeting
are distributed to the news media and are posted at the Administration
Building.

Board meetings are on file in the Superintendent's Office at the
Administration Building.
ISTV Broadcasts
In a partnership with the
local cable television stations, all regularly-scheduled Irving ISD
school board meetings are broadcasted live on cable TV. The meetings are
also re-broadcasted several times the following week. By televising the
meetings, the Irving ISD hopes to inform Irving residents about public
school issues including student achievements, curriculum updates and
financial matters.
