Partners in
Education
Baylor Medical Center at Irving
Bowie Middle School has been lucky for the past several
years to have Baylor Medical Center at Irving as our Partner in
Education. The volunteers at Baylor have counseled, tutored, and
sponsored many students and events. Baylor began the 2009-10 school
year by supporting the 6th Grade Cub Camp. They will also be
involved in field days, dances, and other curricular evening events.
As in years past, Baylor will support our families in need with
holiday gifts for at least 50 families. A check for $1000 was
donated to Bowie to aid with uniforms and other critical need areas
for our families.
To help give back to our partner, the Bowie Art Department has
undertaken a project to beautify the walkway at Baylor by creating
special tiles. Bowie also has planned special music presentations at
the hospital.
Bowie Middle School is fortunate to have an active partner and looks
forward to broadening the scope of community involvement and
accomplishing great things together. |
