Ginger Nelson Curtis,
teacher of the year for Bowie Middle School, has been teaching in
Irving for 10 years, with this being her fourth year at Bowie. Mrs.
Curtis teaches Algebra, Geometry and coaches girls’ athletics. In
addition to these duties, she is a co-sponsor for Student Council.
Her success rate for her students on the End of Course exams is
remarkable and is among the highest in the district. Her students
learn through a variety of activities that end up decorating the
hallway with their charts and graphs.
Mrs. Curtis is always willing to volunteer when people are needed.
She works tirelessly for the students at Bowie and throughout the
district (especially during track season). We are proud to have her
as a teacher, coach and Teacher of the Year.
