Shawn Blessing
Director, Irving ISD Career and Technical Education

Welcome to Irving ISD’s Career and Technical Education Website! This site will provide students, parents, faculty and business partners with a wealth of information regarding CTE programs, student organizations, careers, postsecondary options and other valuable resources. All of the Career and Technical programs are designed to prepare our students for a lifetime of success. Every student can benefit from one or more of the many opportunities available through the 16 Career Cluster “pathways”, which are offered through Irving ISD’s CTE programs. CTE courses prepare ALL students for postsecondary education, career preparation and advancement, high-demand employment and active citizenship. CTE supports the belief that the curricula of the 21st century should combine rigorous academics with relevant career education. This site will assist students, along with their parents, counselors and teachers, in selecting a focused course of elective study, identified as a “pathway”, which will assist them in reaching their future goals. Students are also able to utilize the KUDER Career Assessment program through a link from this site and determine which of the “Career Pathways” is best suited to match their individual interests, skills and lifestyle. CTE programs are evaluated annually to ensure that all programs are meeting the needs of the students and community, as well as addressing the high-demand, high-wage occupational opportunities of the future. CTE values the input and participation of all students, parents, teachers and business partners, on this interactive website.

Thank you for visiting our site, we hope you come back often!
