The DZ Symphonic Band recently participated in UIL Contest. In the Concert Event the band was awarded a First Division Superior rating; in the Sight Reading Event, the band received a Second Division Excellent rating. Click on the files below to hear the band's performance.
 


DZ SCHOOL BUS EMERGENCY EVACUATION TRAINING


The Texas legislature has passed a bill that requires all educators and students to be trained in school bus emergency evacuation training. On February 1st, DZ faculty and students viewed safety procedure videos and participated in a practice evacuation as part of the training.

DZ implements Raptor Sign-in program for campus visitors.

All visitors are now required to present a valid state or government issued photo identification card when they enter an IISD campus. This ID is scanned into the V-Soft system and the personal information from the ID is cross-referenced against names of Registered Sexual Offenders (RSO) in a database maintained by Raptor Technologies, Inc. This program is designed to help maintain the safety and security of our campuses. For further explanation, visit the district's Raptor information page.

de Zavala Middle School believes that parents are an integral  part of students’ achievements and that success begins at home. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for parents to participate in their child’s education and are committed to providing support to parents in the mission to help their children excel in school.
