Korioth, Rice and Campus Teachers of the Year Honored at Nimitz

Martha Korioth, fourth grade teacher at Barton and 2001-2002 Elementary Teacher of the Year; Susan Rice, reading across the disciplines facilitator at Lamar and 2001-2002 Secondary Teacher of the Year, and the 2001-2002 Campus Teachers of the Year were honored at a reception prior to the Board of Trustees Meeting at Nimitz. The teachers were also recognized by the Board during the meeting in the school’s new auditorium.

  • Approved the minutes of the Noon Work Session and Regular Board Meeting on August 27, 2001.

  • Approved Financial Statement for August 2001.

  • Approved Resolution & Order #01-02-01 authorizing an amendment to the 2001-2002 IISD Budget increasing the District’s total budgeted revenue to $194,955,599 and increasing total appropriations to $201,015,033.

  • Approved IISD partial tax roll of $7,652,016,572, producing a levy of $127,452,421 based on the District’s $1.695 tax rate.

  • Approved Resolution & Order #01-02-02 adopting changes to the Irving ISD Tax Roll.

  • Approved Resolution & Order #01-02-03 accepting supplements to the IISD Tax Roll for the years 1996-2001.

  • Approved Resolution #01-02-01 authorizing the sale of property acquired through tax sale.

  • Approved Resolution #01-02-02, #01-02-03, and #01-02-04 accepting bids and authorizing sale of property acquired by tax foreclosure.

  • Approved Implementation Plan for Private Music Lessons for students.

  • Approved Campus and District Attendance Committees for 2001-2002.

  • Approved Board member appointments to Excellence Now Committee for 2001-2002.

  • Approved Board member appointments to District Improvement Committee for 2001-2002.

  • Authorized purchase of computer applications instructional materials for Nimitz in the amount of $38,775 from Teaching Systems.

  • Approved Change Order #6 in the amount of $111,665 for a master clock and public address system at Academy.

  • Approved Order #01-02-01 and amended Order #00-01-07 changing the voting location for Precincts #4017 & 4018 from Fire Station #8 to Davis for the Bond Election on October 27, 2001.

  • Approved Resolution & Order #01-02-04 revising substitute employee compensation for 2001-2002.

  • Approved Second Reading & Filing Authorization of Board Policy CQ related to electronic communications and data management.

  • Received a report on Celebrate Freedom Week, September 24-28, from Sherry Perkins, coordinator for social studies, prekindergarten through grade twelve.
