Recognized for Technology Media Awards
IISD
Board of Trustees recognized elementary, middle and high school students
for their participation in Texas Computer Education Association student
contests held in March. Thirty-two students were recognized either for
their individual or group projects that won first, second and third
place awards.
Entries were submitted in 12 different categories challenging students
to use technology to create different media pieces. Among entries
submitted from across Texas, IISD claimed five first place awards, four
second place awards, and five third place awards.

and guides at a cost of $86,700 to be paid from state special
education funds and state high school allotment funds. |

for missed instructional days for submission to Texas Education
Agency due to a power outage at Crockett Middle School, Gilbert
Elementary School, and Brandenburg Elementary School. |

Approved Texas
Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (T-STEM) grant application
submitted to the Communities Foundation of Texas requesting $149,992
for a two-year grant period. |

Approved proposal for
2008 National Best Buy Teach Award requesting grant funding of
$99,653 in order to provide the technology necessary for elementary
and middle school students to create math and science related videos
to be used as learning tools throughout the district. |

Approved Resolution #
07-08-145 accepting construction document phase pertaining
specifically to the site work, foundation and structural steel for
MacArthur High School bond construction project. |
 |
Approved Resolution # 07-08-146 accepting Guaranteed
Maximum Price of $5,467,919 for site work, foundation and structural
steel for The Academy of Irving ISD bond construction project. |

Approved Resolution #
07-08-147 accepting gifts and donations to the district for the
month of April totaling $19,743. |
 |
Received E-Rate update reflecting a 2008 expected discounted cost of
$1,080,982 for phone and wireless network service. |
