HIPPY Program Receives Honor
The Home Instruction for Parents of
Preschool Youngsters (HIPPY) program in Irving ISD was awarded Stellar
Program Status by HIPPY USA as a result of a program review conducted by
the national organization.
According
to national officials, IISD HIPPY demonstrated high quality programming
resulting in the greatest positive impact for children and families
served by the program. As a result of the award, IISD HIPPY will receive
a $1,500 monetary award and recognition at the organization’s national
conference.

of the 2009-2010 school calendar including planning for staff
development, a start date no earlier than August 24, and the board’s
desire for graduation to take place June 4 and 5. |

personnel needs for installation, implementation and management of
the new telephone system including the proposed hiring of a
full-time permanent telecommunications coordinator. |
 |
Discussed the use of
one scheduled weather day – May 25 versus April 10 – to make up for
IISD schools and offices being closed January 28 due to inclement
weather. |
