Brock Honored as Teacher of the Month
Glenda Brock, instructional
technology specialist (ITS) at de Zavala Middle School, was honored as
IISD Teacher of the Month for February. Brock is a graduate of Sherman
High School in Sherman and attended Grayson County College before
transferring to North Texas State University (University of North
Texas). Brock earned a bachelors degree from UNT and has earned a
masters degree in earth science from East Texas State University.
Before entering the full-time
teaching field, Brock served as a substitute teacher and has worked as
an air traffic controller. After completing student-teaching at Sherman
High School, Brock joined Irving ISD in 1984 as science teacher at Bowie
Middle School. She became ITS at Irving High School in 2002 then joined
de Zavala as ITS in 2006.

Coreas Recognized as Employee of the Month
Nelson Coreas, building manager at
Crockett Middle School, was recognized as Employee of the Month for
February.
He joined Irving ISD in March 2001
as substitute custodian. In April 2001 Coreas was assigned to a
full-time position as night custodian. Coreas was promoted in May 2004
to the position of building manager at Crockett.
