Class of 2009 graduates Nadia Barksdale, Paula Ikpatt, Rafael Diaz, and Amy Villarreal were honored for having been named National Achievement Scholars or National Hispanic Scholars.

In April, Cochran was also named co-lead coach for the women’s National All-Star Gymnastics Team from Texas, and was recognized as 2009 Coach of the Year by the Texas high School Gymnastics Coaches Association.

	Approved Financial Statement for May 2009.
	Approved Resolution & Order #08-09-29 authorizing July amendment to the 2008-2009 Budget increasing total budgeted revenue to $320,077,377 and increasing total appropriations to $315,796,737.
	Approved Resolution & Order #08-09-30 accepting supplements to Irving ISD tax rolls.
	Approved Resolution #08-09-175 accepting CSP# 09-40 for food service staple and perishable food, non-food, paper, catering products, and food service cleaning supplies from Sara Lee Bakery, Oak Farms, Lencel Ice Cream, and Labatt Food Service.
	Approved Ordinance #08-09-03 authorizing revisions to the Irving ISD Student Code of Conduct 2009-2010.
	Approved Resolution #08-09-176 authorizing an agreement between Communities in Schools Dallas Region, Inc. and Thomas Haley Elementary School, Austin Middle School, Bowie Middle School, Crockett Middle School, Houston Middle School, MacArthur High School, and Union Bower Center for Learning for the delivery of program services for at-risk students and their families.
	Approved application for Texas Homeless Education – American Recovery and Reinvestment Act Program 2009-2011 for $154,234 for identification, testing, implementation and piloting of a computerized method for Irving ISD homeless education program to identify struggling students as detrimental conditions occur and provide timely intervention.
	Approved Target Tech in Texas Collaborative Grant application as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009 for $657,718 for projects including teacher training in the implementation of classroom technology, administrative leadership training, afterschool science programs, and placement of mobile laptop laboratories.
	Approved Resolution #08-09-177 authorizing the Board appointments of Paul Coronado, Andrew Jackson, and Sandy Franco to the Excellence Now Committee.
	Approved Resolution #08-09-178 continuing a use agreement with Irving YMCA for after-school child care services at Brown Elementary School, Elliott Elementary School, Good Elementary School, Lee Elementary School, Lively Elementary School, Johnston Elementary School, Stipes Elementary School, Townley Elementary School, and Townsell Elementary School.
	Approved Resolution #08-09-179 authorizing the purchase of BoardBook web-based software application for the preparation, distribution, and publishing of Board agenda packets at an initial cost of $1,400 for setup and training and $700 annual maintenance fee.
	Approved Resolution #08-09-180 accepting construction documents phase for Nimitz High School Bond Construction Project budgeted at a total cost of $14,502,636.
	Approved Resolution #08-09-181 awarding contract with ATCO EnvroAir Testing Engineers, Inc. for HVAC test and balance services at John Haley Elementary School, Hanes Elementary School, Johnston Elementary School, Keyes Elementary School, Townley Elementary School, Ratteree Career Development Center, and Irving Schools Stadium 2007 Bond Construction Projects.
