| Cole Honored as Teacher of the Month
Shannon Cole, fourth grade teacher at
Brown, was honored as Teacher of the Month for March. A graduate of
Laplata High School in Laplata,
Maryland, she received a Bachelor of Arts
degree in advertising from Harding University in Arkansas.
Cole worked in a variety of fields
outside of education before becoming a teacher. She joined IISD in 2002
as a special education aide while working on her certification. In 2003,
she was recommended for a special education teaching position and is now
in her second year as a fourth grade teacher at Brown.

| Horn Recognized as Employee of the Month
Jim Horn, lead electrician and utilities
foreman at Facilities Services, was recognized as Employee of the Month
for March. He began his career with Irving ISD in 1994 as a lead
electrician at Facilities Services and has a combined total of 25 years
in his field. Horn also serves as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves,
holding the rank of first sergeant.

Q. Jeffery & Associates for Britain cold storage addition. |

Approved Brenda Sorrell as alternate representative for the Texas
Education Agency’s National School Lunch and Child Nutrition
Programs. |

Conducted public hearing on bids for oil and gas leases and enacted
Resolution #05-06-107 pertaining to the matter. |
|
Approved plans for elementary and secondary summer school
instructional programs and athletic camps for summer 2006. |
