Banners Presented to
Recognized Schools
On behalf of the
Irving ISD Board of Trustees, Assistant Superintendent for Teaching &
Learning Marie Morris praised four IISD schools for their Recognized
ratings through the state’s 2006 Texas School Accountability Rating
System. They are Austin, Gilbert, Lamar and Townsell.
Banners were
presented to the schools by Dr. Cheryl Jennings, division director of
elementary teaching & learning, and Tracie Fraley, division director of
secondary teaching & learning. Improvement in scores for the Texas
Assessment of Knowledge and Skills (TAKS) is a major reason for the
overall improvement. Last year, no IISD schools received the Recognized
rating.
