Hicks
Named Outstanding Graduate
Russel Hicks, a
1987 graduate of MacArthur, was honored as an Outstanding Graduate.
Hicks is president and co-founder of Martin Fletcher, one of the largest
healthcare staffing firms in the United States. He oversees company
operations, corporate strategy, and new business development. Martin
Fletcher is based in Las Colinas.
After graduating
from MacArthur High School in 1987, Hicks earned his bachelor’s degree
from Texas Tech University in Lubbock.
Prior to the
formation of Martin Fletcher, Hicks spent the majority of his career at
one of the nation’s largest medical staffing companies fulfilling a
number of roles, from recruiter to vice president. In fact, while there,
he was named one of the youngest vice presidents in the history of the
company. Hicks is credited with helping develop the Physician
Compensation Survey, now published in Modern Healthcare magazine
and a recognized industry gauge of healthcare salaries and trends in the
market.
Hicks and his
partner started Martin Fletcher in 1998 to provide the market with a
more innovative approach to healthcare recruiting, while also building
an exceptional culture of success. According to the SMU Cox School of
Business, Martin Fletcher is one of the fastest-growing privately held
companies in North Texas.
Recently, Hicks was
included in the Dallas Business Journal’s Under 40 List, which
recognizes business management and leadership from executives under the
age of 40. Earning such accolades at a young age is a testament to his
dedication, vision and work ethic.
Hicks currently
resides in Flower Mound with his wife and three children.
