Approved Resolution #07-08-01 approving a list of appraisers for the Professional Development & Appraisal System.

Accepted Texas Educator Excellence Grant (TEEG) proposals from Britain, Thomas Haley, Austin, Lamar, Houston, Academy and Irving High. These schools meet the criteria in Cycle 2 of TEEG. The award amounts are as follows: Britain, $120,000; Thomas Haley, $120,000; Austin, $130,000; Lamar, $165,000; Houston, $165,000; Academy, $200,000; and Irving High, $240,000. Seventy-five percent of the award must be paid to classroom teachers who meet campus-developed criteria during the 2007-2008 school year. The remaining 25 percent can be spent on other staff members and supplemental supplies.

Approved Resolution #07-08-02 approving justifications for participating TEEG campuses to propose an incentive variance.

Approved Resolution #07-08-03 authorizing purchase of Gizmos Software through sole-source vendor ExploreLearning at a cost of $75,336.

Approved Resolution #07-08-04 accepting proposal for high-volume copiers/printers from Danka Office Imaging Company for Canon equipment at a cost of $925 per month for larger equipment and $465 per month for mid-range equipment, both with unlimited copy volumes.

Approved Resolution #07-08-05 authorizing joint election agreement between IISD and other political subdivisions for administration of election by Dallas County Elections Department.

Approved Resolution #07-08-06 pertaining to interlocal agreement with City of Irving for security and peace officer services. The estimated cost to IISD has been decreased to $674,799, a decrease of $14,250, related to a change in health insurance benefit to police officers provided by the City of Irving.

Approved second reading and adoption of TASB Update 80 and other local board policies EEJB and EIE.

Approved Resolution #07-08-07 accepting gifts and donations to the district in the amount of $6,944 for June, July and August, for a year-to-date total of $132,008.

Received instructional report on district reading program.

Received report on the Medi-Gap Plan, a new voluntary health benefit product offered to IISD employees in 2007-2008.
