Van for Frost Family to be Unveiled May 18

Students, staff, parents and community members at Brown Elementary School will present a van that accommodates two wheelchairs to the Frost family at 8:45 a.m. Friday, May 18. The family has two sons, Jacob and Zachary, with muscular dystrophy, and the van will help the family achieve a more manageable quality of life. Zachary attends Brown.

For the past year and a half, staff and students at Brown have sponsored a campaign to raise funds to purchase the van. The campaign was featured last December in an edition of The Dallas Morning News. At the time of the article, the school had raised $22,000 toward a goal of $40,000. Following the article, donations pushed the total past $65,000. The money was used to purchase the van as well as covering insurance and gasoline costs for the family.
