Visitor Registry
System
Installed
Irving ISD is installing a new system at all schools called V‑Soft that
is designed to help track visitors at the schools, providing a safer,
more monitored, environment for the students.
When visitors, volunteers or contractors check-in, or when parents come
to pick up students, they will be asked to present a valid state or
government-issued photo ID for entering into the system.
The system has the ability to provide alerts on people who may
jeopardize the safety of the campus.
The new program will begin October 15; on this date, no visitor will be
allowed unrestricted access to the school unless they produce a valid
state issued photo ID and have a legitimate purpose for their visit.
“We feel certain this will help us keep our campuses safer, and we ask
for your cooperation in presenting your ID when checking in at our
schools,” said Pat Lamb, director of security and operations.
To
learn more about the district's security initiatives, visit the IISD
Safety & Security website at
www.irvingisd.net/facilities/safety/default.htm.
