Boundary Change Effects Thomas Haley, Townsell

Effective for the 2009-2010 school year, the Irving ISD Board of Trustees approved a boundary change for Townsell Elementary School and Thomas Haley Elementary School.

The attendance boundary change was to re-zone approximately 100 students from Townsell to the Thomas Haley attendance area with the exception, at parents’ discretion, of fourth grade students transitioning to fifth grade who may complete their fifth grade year at Townsell.

The boundary area moved from Townsell to Thomas Haley is the block bordered in the north by Country Club Drive, in the west by Belt Line Road, in the south by Northgate Drive, and in the east along William DeHaes Drive.

Irving ISD Releases Free/Reduced Lunch Policy

Irving Independent School District has announced its policy for providing free and reduced price meals for children served under the National School Lunch Program and School Breakfast Program. The IISD Food Service Office and School Meal Application Center, located at 800 N. O’Connor Road, have a copy of the policy, which is available to the public.

The household size and income criteria identified in the chart below will be used to determine eligibility for free and reduced-price benefits. Children from households whose income is at or below the levels indicated are eligible for free or reduced price meals. Foster children who are the legal responsibility of a welfare agency or court may also be eligible for benefits regardless of the income of the household with whom they reside. Eligibility for the foster child is based on the child’s income.
