IISD Food Service A Low-Cost Leader

Students and adults who eat Irving ISD school meals are smart shoppers – based on a recent survey of area school district meal prices, Irving ISD school cafeteria customers save an average of 15%−25% with every meal they purchase!  The start of the 2007-2008 school year marks the third consecutive year that Irving ISD meal prices have not increased for students!

As the table above illustrates, the IISD offers some of the lowest meal prices in the greater D/FW area.  This means that students, and their families, will have extremely nutritious and healthy meals available at bargain prices.  The typical cafeteria lunch includes an entrée, up to three servings of fruits and vegetables, low-fat or non-fat milk, and often a freshly baked roll or other bread item.  Nearly all bread items consist of either 100% whole wheat or partial 100% whole wheat.

Some ala carte prices, however, may increase.

The IISD Food Service Department is proud to continue its tradition of being a low-cost leader in the area of school meal prices.  Remember, smart shoppers – those who want great nutrition and delicious meals at low, low prices – eat at Irving ISD schools.
