Established in 1994 by Bank of America and awarded to a graduating senior who plans to pursue a business related course of study at a college or university.

Barbara Cardwell Future of Education Scholarship
Funded in 2009 by friends and family of Barbara Cardwell as a tribute to her many years of service to the IISD. It is awarded to a graduating senior who is in the top 20% of his/her class and has a record of community service and the intent to continue community service while in college and intends to major in education in order to become an educator in the public schools.

Baylor Medical Center at Irving Scholarship
(Applicants must also conduct a short face-to-face interview with Baylor Medical Center staff.)  Awarded to four graduating students who demonstrate a connection to Baylor Irving by having volunteered at the hospital, completed a junior student rotation or completed a senior internship through the HOSA program.  The student must plan to pursue higher education at a four-year university or college to major in a health care related field.  The student must rank in the top 10% of his/her high school class.  The student must demonstrate good character as evidences in at least 2 letters of reference and must have actively participated in community activities or community service during his/her high school years.  The student must demonstrate active participation in extra-curricular activities or organizations for two years during his/her high school years.

Awarded to a graduating Irving High School Hispanic senior with an overall average of 85 who plans to pursue a college/university degree in education.

Awarded to a senior intending to acquire a college degree in the field of engineering, business or education and is able to demonstrate financial need and academic achievement.

Carol Wood Culinary Arts and Small Business Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who plans to obtain a degree in culinary arts and/or small business and, is involved in school and community activities, has an economic need and plans to attend culinary school, secondary school or college.

Awarded to a graduating High School senior who has a financial need. Applicants must have attended Austin Middle School.

Coach Mike Farda Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who intends to pursue an educational degree to teach and/or coach.  The student must have been involved in team sports while achieving academic success.  Student needs to explain their financial need and that they have participated in community service and made a difference in their community.

Cubbies Against Cancer Scholarship
Awarded to a senior that attended Bowie Middle School.  Must have been directly involved with (ex: self, relative, friend) to someone who had been diagnosed with Cancer.  The student must also be in financial need.
Included in this application should be an explanation of how cancer has directly affected your family.

Awarded to a graduating senior who ranks in the top 25% of their class, participates in academic achievement beyond basic high school course curriculum and pursues a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts/pre-law degree program at an accredited university or college in Texas.

Awarded to a graduating senior with academic achievement who plans to attend a four year college and major in business, engineering or human resources. He/she has exhibited leadership experience and roles throughout their school, civic/community, church and sports, including participants in Future Leaders of Irving program (2011/2012).

Gifted and Talented English Scholarship in honor of Ms. Judith Nevil

Awarded to a graduating senior from Irving High School and must be in the Gifted and Talented English Senior Class.  The recipient must have been at Irving High School for four years and a magna cum laude/suma cum laude graduate.  Student must present a one-page, single spaced and typed essay explaining his or her value of education and how the scholarship money will be used.

Awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a four year college degree, who has demonstrated involvement in both extracurricular and community activities while maintaining a high academic standard.

HIPPY Academic Scholarship

Awarded to a graduating senior from one of the following high schools; Irving, Nimitz, MacArthur, Singley Academy or Barbara Cardwell Preparatory Center.  The student must have completed at least one year in the HIPPY program, have a minimum of a B grade point average and have completed a minim of 20 hours community service or volunteer work.  Must include an essay on how their parents have helped them to be successful in school.

Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau Hospitality Industry Scholarship*
Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to pursue a course of study in the hospitality industry at an institution of higher learning and enter the hospitality field as a career. Applicants must have an overall grade average of 85 or above and submit a written statement (approximately 250 words) on why or how he/she has chosen the tourism/hospitality field as his/her particular area of interest. *Hospitality industry includes programs of study such as: Food and Beverage/Restaurant Management Programs, Hotel-Motel Programs, Convention and Visitors Bureau Programs, Tourism Programs and Hospitality Industry Programs.

Irving High School Choral Scholarship in honor of James Moore
Awarded to an Irving High School senior that has participated in the Choral program for 2 or more years.  The applicant must demonstrate a desire to attend a 2 or 4 year school of higher education.  The student must have exhibited excellent attendance and personal conduct throughout High School, must show a financial need and have strong community involvement through church or volunteer activities (consideration will be given if applicant has a job outside of school).

Awarded to a senior from Irving High School.  The student must have successfully completed at least one AP Math class, community service hours and has high overall academic achievements.

Irving Professional Firefighters' Association Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior with an average of 80 or above with a desire to further his/her education at a technical institute, community college, or university, and whose family income does not exceed $60,000 (written statement from family required).  Must demonstrate community involvement, preferably participation in some extra-curricular activity.  An essay of 300 words or less that describes why the applicant wants this scholarship and describes their future plans must be attached.

Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to pursue a degree in fine arts and has proven academic achievement. He/she must have participated in school and community activities and have a financial need.

Irving Symphony League – Scholarship for the Performing Arts
Awarded to a graduating senior who has participated in a school or community based arts organization or who has taken private lessons for a minimum of two years and plans to pursue a degree in the performing arts (music, dance, drama) at a college or university.  The student must have a minimum grade point average of 85 or above and demonstrated good character.  Two (2) letters of recommendation; one school-related and community-related are required.

Awarded to a graduating senior, one from each High School, who exhibited outstanding achievement in academics, extracurricular activities and community service.

Awarded to a senior from the Singley Academy that has great academic achievement, participated in school and community activities and is in financial need.  This scholarship will be awarded to one student from each floor; Academy Medical/Legal specialties, Academy STEM specialties, and Academy Arts & Communications specialties.

Awarded to a graduating senior who has overcome adverse social, economic, or personal situations to graduate from high school.   Must include your financial need in your essay.

Awarded to a graduating senior considered a “good citizen” by faculty and staff, has received no other recognition, and is active in ROTC and/or considering military service.

Jordan Wayne Luddeke Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who ranks in the upper 20% of his/her class, must provide proof of community service, must be enrolled in a school organization or activity, describe financial need, provide a paragraph on:  “What is school spirit?” and is open to any area of undergraduate study.

Joy and Ralph Ellis Scholarship for Athletes
Awarded to four graduating seniors from any Irving ISD high school who have participated in junior/senior athletic programs.  A varsity letter is not required.  $750 per semester will be paid to each recipient for a maximum of eight semesters.  Applicants must rank in the upper 40% of the graduating class, must attempt and pass twelve (12) hours per semester, and must be enrolled as a full-time student for continued participation in the scholarship program.  An essay of 200 words or less stating how the applicant plans to take advantage of the scholarship must be attached.  Participation in college athletic programs is NOT required.  Drill team and cheerleading participation does not qualify.

Judy Hammond Memorial Athletic Scholarship
Awarded to graduating seniors from any Irving ISD high school who has participated in junior/senior athletic programs.  A varsity letter is not required.  An essay of 200 words or less stating how the applicant plans to take advantage of the scholarship must be attached.  Participation in college athletic programs is NOT required.  Drill team and cheerleading participation does not qualify.

Established in 2009 by the Association of Texas Professional Educators and given in memory of Mrs. Judy Coyle. Awarded to a graduating senior, one from each High School, who has proven academic achievement, is involved in community and school activities, and plans to major in education. He/she must also have a financial need.

Kenneth McKinney Memorial Respect Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who has demonstrated respect and anti-bullying throughout their years in school. The senior must have an average of 85 or above and the desire to attend a Junior College, Vocational Training School or University. They also must demonstrate a financial need and submit a paragraph on the benefits of showing respect throughout their childhood and into their future.

Awarded to two graduating seniors in the upper 25% of his or her class, who has demonstrated community service involvement and must submit an essay explaining the importance of giving back to your community and describing the traits of unselfishness and loyalty and how they demonstrate these qualities in their life and in their community involvement.

Awarded to a graduating senior who has an overall average of 85 or above and plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy or special education at a college/university. Student must show an interest in volunteering with physically/mentally challenged individuals (i.e. state schools, group homes).

Awarded to a graduating Irving ISD senior who ranks in the top 10% of their class and has a desire to pursue a degree in the medical field. An essay explaining desire to major in the medical field must be attached to the scholarship application.

Nokia Challenger Scholarship

Awarded to graduating senior with a 90 or above grade point average planning to attend a minimum four year university with an interest in science, technology or engineering.  The student must have exhibited responsibility as well as accountability as a young adult in school, social settings, work and charitable or community activities.  The applicant will have inspired others to better themselves or their community.  The student will also be re required to provide a letter of reference from one teacher or school administrator and another from a community organization or work supervisor.

Established in 1992 in memory of Phyllis Lyster and awarded to an Irving High School graduating senior who plans to pursue a four year degree at a college or university.

Established by Physical Therapy Associates of Irving and awarded to a graduating senior who has worked in a physical therapy and/or athletic training setting for at least six months, has an overall average of 85, and plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy or athletic training.

Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has been forced to work full time to support themselves due to misfortune. He/she must have college admission grades. No direction for a major is required and will be open to all students in day or night classes.

Awarded to a graduating senior that must have attended TJ Lee or Brandenburg Elementary for at least one year and is interested in pursing a service related career.  The recipient must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Spc. Josiah Vandertulip Memorial Scholarship
Established in October 2004 by Louise and Robert Vandertulip to affirm Josiah's life and honor his legacy of courage and sacrifice.  Awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a four year college degree that has a B average or higher and shows creativity and humor.  This scholarship will honor the type student Josiah was and offer that student a chance to continue on with their education especially if their family is unable to provide for higher education.
