Irving Schools Foundation Academic Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior at each high school who ranks in the upper 10% of his/her class and plans to pursue a college/university degree.

Barbara Cardwell Future of Education Scholarship
Funded in 2009 by friends and family of Barbara Cardwell as a tribute to her many years of service to the IISD. It is awarded to a graduating senior who is in the top 20% of his/her class and has a record of community service and the intent to continue community service while in college and intends to major in education in order to become an educator in the public schools.

Baylor Medical Center at Irving Scholarship
Awarded to four graduating students who demonstrates a connection to Baylor Irving by having volunteered at the hospital, completed a junior student rotation or completed a senior internship through the HOSA program.  The student must plan to pursue higher education at a four-year university or college to major in a health care related field.  The student must rank in the top 10% of his/her high school class.  The student must demonstrate good character as evidences in at least 2 letters of reference and must have actively participated in community activities or community service during his/her high school years.  The student must demonstrate active participation in extra-curricular activities or organizations for two years during his/her high school years.

Awarded to a graduating Irving High School Hispanic senior with an overall average of 85 who plans to pursue a college/university degree in education.

Brandenburg Idol Scholarship
(One time scholarship)  Awarded to a graduating senior from MacArthur High School who attended Brandenburg Elementary School.  The student must show a 3.0 GPA and have plans to attend any college, university or trade school.

Carol Wood Culinary Arts and Small Business Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who plans to obtain a degree in culinary arts and/or small business and, is involved in school and community activities, has an economic need and plans to attend culinary school, secondary school or college.

City of Irving Convention and Visitors Bureau Tourism/Hospitality Industry Scholarship*
Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to pursue a course of study in tourism and/or the hospitality industry at an institution of higher learning and enter the tourism/hospitality field as a career. Applicants must have an overall grade average of 85 or above and submit a written statement (approximately 250 words) on why or how he/she has chosen the tourism/hospitality field as his/her particular area of interest. *Tourism/Hospitality industry includes programs of study such as: Food and Beverage/Restaurant Management Programs, Hotel-Motel Programs, Convention and Visitors Bureau Programs, Tourism Programs and Hospitality Industry Programs.

Awarded to a graduating senior who ranks in the top 25% of their class, participates in academic achievement beyond basic high school course curriculum and pursues a bachelor’s degree in liberal arts/pre-law degree program at an accredited university or college in Texas.

Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to major in education at a college or university.

This scholarship is awarded to a Hispanic senior seeking a major in education and/or music with an overall average of 85.

Awarded to a graduating senior who has decided to continue his or her education in the field of education with early childhood emphasis; preferably a student with an interest in technology.

Awarded to a graduating senior pursuing a four year college degree, who has demonstrated involvement in both extracurricular and community activities while maintaining a high academic standard.

Awarded to a graduating senior woman who has exhibited academic achievement, has a financial need, and plans to pursue a degree in engineering, math or science at a college/university.

Ike Guest Memorial Scholarship
Established in 2009 by the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce in memory of Mr. Ike Guest. Awarded to a graduating senior who plans to major in either accounting or finance and has demonstrated a record of community service.

Inelda Alaniz Scholarship
Funded in 2009 by Inelda Alaniz and awarded to an Irving High School graduating Hispanic student with a grade point average of 90.0 or above who plans to attend an accredited junior, college, college or university. May be used for tuition, books and/or fees.

Irving Dental Community Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior with an overall average of 90 or above who plans to pursue a career in the dental field as a dentist, dental hygienist, dental assistant or dental laboratory technician.

Irving Professional Firefighters' Association Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior with a an average of 80 or above with a desire to further his/her education at a technical institute, community college, or university, and whose family income does not exceed $60,000 (written statement from family required).  Must demonstrate community involvement, preferably participation in some extra-curricular activity.  An essay of 300 words or less that describes why the applicant wants this scholarship and describes their future plans must be attached.

Awarded to a graduating senior who has participated in fine arts and has proven academic achievement. He/she must have participated in school and community activities and have a financial need.

Awarded to a graduating senior who has participated in a performing music organization for two years, demonstrates good character and plans to pursue a four-year college degree with a major in music. Must possess an overall average of 90 or above in music and be active in school and community activities.

Awarded to two graduating seniors who have an overall average of 85 and plans to pursue a college/university degree.

Awarded to a graduating senior who participated in football and/or track during his/her junior or senior year, plans to pursue additional education at a technical institute or college/university, has financial need, and takes part in school and community activities.

Awarded to a graduating Nimitz High School senior who
has participated in athletics, athletic training, cheerleading, or drill team his/her junior and senior years, has an overall average of 85 or above, and plans to pursue a degree in education or athletic training at a college/university.

John Stipes Motivational Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who has overcome adverse social, economic, or personal situations to graduate from high school.   Separate application and financial statements are required.  Must include your financial need in your essay.

John Michael Teal Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior considered a “good citizen” by faculty and staff, has received no other recognition, and is active in ROTC and/or considering military service.

Jordan Wayne Luddeke Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who ranks in the upper 20% of his/her class, must provide proof of community service, must be enrolled in a school organization or activity, describe financial need, provide a paragraph on:  “What is school spirit?” and is open to any area of undergraduate study.

Joy and Ralph Ellis Scholarship for Athletes
Awarded to four graduating seniors from any Irving ISD high school who have participated in junior/senior athletic programs.  A varsity letter is not required.  $750 per semester will be paid to each recipient for a maximum of eight semesters.  Applicants must rank in the upper 40% of the graduating class, must attempt and pass twelve (12) hours per semester, and must be enrolled as a full-time student for continued participation in the scholarship program.  An essay of 200 words or less stating how the applicant plans to take advantage of the scholarship must be attached.  Participation in college athletic programs is NOT required.  Drill team and cheerleading participation does not qualify.

Judy Hammond Memorial Athletic Scholarship
Awarded to graduating seniors from any Irving ISD high school who has participated in junior/senior athletic programs.  A varsity letter is not required.  An essay of 200 words or less stating how the applicant plans to take advantage of the scholarship must be attached.  Participation in college athletic programs is NOT required.  Drill team and cheerleading participation does not qualify.

Judy Coyle Irving ATPE Scholarship
Established in 2009 by the Association of Texas Professional Educators and given in memory of Mrs. Judy Coyle. Awarded to a graduating senior who has proven academic achievement, is involved in community and school activities, and plans to major in education. He/she must also have a financial need.

Lance CPL. Nazario Serrano Memorial Scholarship
Awarded to two graduating seniors in the upper 25% of his or her class, who has demonstrated community service involvement and must submit an essay explaining the importance of giving back to your community and describing the traits of unselfishness and loyalty and how they demonstrate these qualities in their life and in their community involvement.

Larry Allen Spriggs Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who has an overall average of 85 or above and plans to pursue a degree in special education at a college/university. Student must have exhibited an interest in volunteerism specifically working with physically/mentally challenged individuals (i.e. state schools, group homes).

Las Colinas Cancer Center Foundation Scholarship by Dr. Gregory A. Echt, M.D.
Awarded to a graduating Irving ISD senior who ranks in the top 10% of their class and has a desire to pursue a degree in the medical field. An essay explaining desire to major in the medical field must be attached to the scholarship application.

Mary Rudisell Honorary Scholarship
Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who attended Clifton Early Childhood School. The senior must prove a record of community service and/or extracurricular activities. The senior must plan to attend an accredited community college, college, or university, or technical institute and he/she must have a commitment to learning.

Marilyn Polous Community Service Scholarship
Awarded to a graduating senior who has actively participated in at least 80 hours of community service in the last two years.

Awarded to a graduating senior from each high school who plans to pursue a degree or certification in any health care related field such as nursing, medical transcription, radiological (x-ray) technology, etc., excluding premed, pre-dental or pre-vet majors, at a technical institute, community college, or university.

Awarded to a graduating senior who has actively participated in art and has an overall average of 85 or above with an average of 90 or above in art and plans to pursue a college or university degree in art.

Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has been forced to work full time to support themselves due to misfortune. He/she must have college admission grades. No direction for a major is required and will be open to all students in day or night classes.

Awarded to a graduating senior with a 3.0 un-weighed grade point average, pursuing a career in a science, technology, engineering or mathematics field and attending a four year college or university.  Include evidence of applicant’s academic achievement in high school, leadership skills or community service in the area of science, technology, engineering or mathematics.  Applicants must be an Irving, Texas resident.

Verizon Hispanic Support Organization Scholarship
Established in 2006 by the North Texas Chapter of the Hispanic Support Organization. This scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has actively participated in the HSO/MacArthur High School mentoring program and who plans to attend an institution of higher learning. The minimum GPA for this scholarship is 3.0.

Awarded to 2 graduating senior women who plan to pursue a degree or additional education at any accredited institute of higher learning.

Awarded to a graduating senior woman from Irving High School who has demonstrated good grades, attendance, community involvement and financial need.  Please explain any extenuating circumstances (i.e. medical reasons) for any unusual absences from school.
