For Jack Singley's 44 years of service to IISD, 44 individuals will be named as donors of the Singley 44 Campaign to help us reach our goal to endow four total Jack Singley Scholarships - one for each High School in Irving.

Highlights of the 2008-2009 School Year

The Irving Schools Foundation is excited to announce the following new scholarships that were awarded at this year’s Breakfast with the Stars.

Betty and Ben Carpenter Memorial Scholarship
Kenneth Yancey Memorial Scholarship
Inelda Alaniz Scholarship
 Barbara Cardwell Future of Education Scholarship

Scholarships Awarded

86 students and two teachers were awarded Foundation scholarships totaling $135,000 this year. The scholarship recipients were honored at our annual Breakfast with the Stars event last April. A recap of the Breakfast event is located on our events page.

Grants Awarded

The ISF is pleased to announce that during the 2008-09 school year, $17,078 was awarded to 72 IISD teachers in the form of Teacher Enrichment grants. Teacher Enrichment Grants are designed for teachers pursuing professional development by attending conferences, seminars or workshops. The Foundation also supported 22 “Grants to Teacher” applications totaling $20,819 for the implementation of creative and innovative teaching practices in the classroom. Congratulations to all Recipients!

Summer Grant Deadline!

The next deadline for Grants to Teachers is July 16th. Please submit your application with three copies to the Foundation office. Applications can be found on the grant application page of this website.
