Intermediate Elementary Grades
There are two ways in which gifted and talented
services may be offered:

Placement within a self-contained gifted and
talented classroom ALL day or,
|
|
 |
Through "pull-out" by coming into
the self-contained classroom for a specific period of instruction in the
student's identified area of giftedness. |

Students in third, fourth, and fifth-grade are
provided accelerated instruction in the four core subject-areas:
Language Arts
Students are introduced to both the process skills of critical/analytical
reading and the foundation skills and concepts of written and oral language.
Mathematics
Student explore the vast mathematical spectrum by investigating
basic, as well as advanced, mathematical concepts and applications.
Science
Students are introduced to BOTH
the process skills of the scientific method and the foundation science concepts
of life, earth, and physical science.
Social Science
Students are given an
opportunity to examine their community, state and country within a humanities
framework.
