2004 ICE Awards Set

The fourth annual installment of the ICE Awards will feature a new host and a new home this week. Fort Worth Star-Telegram columnist Bob Ray Sanders will serve as guest emcee for the evening. The event will be held this Thursday (February 26) at 7 p.m. in the Irving High School auditorium, a move north from the Nimitz High School auditorium where it has been held since its inception.

The ICE (Irving Celebration of Excellence) Awards, designed to recognize excellent performances by IISD students and student organizations, presents trophies in six categories: Academics, Fine Arts, Athletics & Physical Education, Community Service, Special Campus/District, and Innovative Programs. Within each category, awards will be presented in three divisions: elementary, middle school, and high school.

A crystal trophy and $1,000 will be presented to the winning school in each division and category, and certificates will be presented to the students. The ICE Awards are free and open to the public.
