Training was a collaborative study group professional development
model. Groups of teachers with similar content areas got together to
study best practices, share ideas, and consult with experts to learn
how to make laptops a regular part of classroom instruction.
This group of teachers helped develop a needs
assessment for their content area and became the “think tank” for
future district staff development and curricular ideas. A
stipend of $200 was paid to teachers who assisted with this
important project. The project has been so successful that teachers
want to expand this model to create campus Job Alike groups.
