Kinkeade Speech

Rachel Bennett M.S., CFY-SLP

Overview:

Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) provide support and services to students meeting speech and language eligibility requirements.  An educational need must be present for a student to qualify to receive speech services.  In other words, the student’s speech and/or language impairment must be severe enough that it interferes with his/her learning in the school setting.  Students meeting eligibility criteria may be served in the following areas:

·        Articulation (i.e., speech sounds)

·        Language (receptive and expressive)

·        Fluency

·        Voice

Program Expectations and Collaboration Needs:

Delivery of services may be accomplished by pull-out for individual and/or group therapy, classroom collaboration or consultation with the student’s teacher, or home programming.  The design of service delivery is based upon individual need.  Parental involvement is strongly recommended through collaboration with the SLP.
