Mascot

Kangaroo

The image of a leaping kangaroo with a joey in her pouch indelibly reminds us of how we, as educators, approach the fine task of teaching and "growing" our students.  The kangaroo naturally and instinctively carries her joey in the safety of her pouch and teaches to maturity by modeling appropriate behaviors and allowing him plenty of opportunity  to develop independence.  We are a bit more deliberate in our process, but much like the kangaroo and her joey, we seek to provide a safe environment for each child in which they can develop and grow by leaps and bounds.

School Colors

Green and White

Our GREEN and WHITE school colors are most significant, particularly when the targeted age level of our students is considered.  As each four-year-old enters the educational system for their first school experience, they are, in fact, "green" as in 'not yet ripe'.  It is our privilege, as educators, to take the "clean slates" or "new beginnings" (these little ones), represented by the color white, give them ample opportunity and allow them to sprout and grow as healthy little green buds, thus our dual meaning of the color green: un ripe and growth.  So it is clear, via the white and green colors they appropriately represent our school.  We can say to each student with certainty:

"Your Future Begins At KINKEADE!"
