Irving's Big Read

The Irving Public Library is hosting another Big Read this year-focusing on the works of Edgar Allan Poe! It will last the whole month of October and below are some events that are in the planning stages.

Kickoff with Big Bleed on Oct. 1-donate a book or blood for a free lunch with readings by Poe enthusiast Darrius Frazier (name spelling?).

Oct. 10 Irving Chautauqua is having Tetra de las Rosa group from San Antonio performing Tell Tale Heart, 2 pm

Oct. 16 Masquerade Ball, 7 pm

Oct. 20 Matthew Pearl talking about his books focusing The Poe Shadow at Dupree Theater Arts Center, 7 pm

Oct. 23 Poe Horror Movie Maratha, Central Lib. 6 pm complete with Unhappy Hour; will be 4 or 5 Hitchock horror movies

Oct. 24 Teen Graphic Novel Workshop, Bill Fountain, Central, 2 pm

Oct. 24 Puppet Show about Poe, Northwest Branch, 2 pm,

Oct. 27 Scott Peoples at National Scout Museum, 7 pm

Oct. 30 Teen Masquerade Ball, Central, ??

Oct. 31 Puppet Show at 2 pm at Central
