Library
Hosting Guidelines
- Please be courteous and verify with the librarian or
clerk before planning something in the library. The public folder calendar
available in Outlook can be referenced, but does not always accurately reflect
all events scheduled. The school calendar does not contain most library
events.
- Do not expect the library to be free of activity during
an event. The library “does not close”.
- Tables and chairs need to be set up by the people in
charge of the event, and likewise, put back in their original setup once the
event is over. This also applies to books on display that may have been moved
in the process.
- We cannot be held responsible for anything left in the
library unattended at any time.
- Food and drink can be allowed in the library, HOWEVER,
the following guidelines need to be followed in those instances:
- Keep food and drink in a limited area, away from the
computers and the books.
- Clean any spills immediately after they occur. With
liquids, blotting is not sufficient. The carpet needs to be treated with a
cleaner. Serious damage should be brought to the attention of the school and
library staff.
- All garbage should be thrown in the trashcans
available in the library, but especially food or drink should not been left
out. Liquids should not be thrown into the garbage bags, but poured down the
sink.
- Food should not be left in the sink as there is no
disposal method.
- Any dishes should be washed and taken, not left in the
sink or on tables.
- No open packages or containers of food should be left
in the library due to the danger of infestation it causes to the books.
- Feel free to move our trashcans to accommodate your
guests, but return them when you are done.
- Utilize our recycling containers to reduce waste.
