The Lively Elementary Honor Choir meets every Thursday, after
school, from 2:45-3:30 p.m. We concentrate on singing a variety of
vocal music pieces, sometimes accompanied by instruments and
choreography.
Our first performance for the year took place in
September, 2007, at the World Trade Mart in Dallas, as part of the
Annual Fashion Show for Our Children’s House in Irving. This
facility is part of Baylor Healthcare and provides services for
medically challenged children and their families, so we were proud
and honored to sing for this special event. We sang selections
that children would enjoy, had a wonderful lunch, and viewed a magic
show. Now we are expecting to perform holiday selections at The
Irving Christmas Heritage Celebration on Saturday, December 1, 2007
at Heritage Park in downtown Irving. We will be accompanied by the
Lively Orff Troop, directed by Mrs. Jessica Rodges, in which some of
our choir members also participate.
We plan to continue our choir through the year, and hope to
collaborate with the Lively Orff Instrumental Troop in future
performances, at our school and in the community.
