Metro PCS – for students that have demonstrated exceptional involvement in volunteerism and community service, in addition to academics and other criteria.  Applications are online at www.metropcs.com/scholarship or in the Counseling Office.  Deadline:  11/25/09. 

TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards – for entrepreneurial students that run their own business (from lawn care, to jewelry, to eBay auctioneers).  For information and applications, go online to www.tcuyeya.org.  Deadline:  11/1/09. 

“HAZ LA U” – short essay contest from the Hispanic Heritage Foundation and Colgate-Palmolive Company.  Students can log onto www.colgate.com/hazlau and answer the question:  How do you think education can impact the Heritage of Hispanic generations to come?  Deadline:  11/30/09. 

The Josie Washington Memorial Scholarship – for a senior who has contributed outstanding service to the community.  Applications are online at www.kappazpb.org and in the Counseling Office.  Deadline:  12/12/09. 

Fairrilla E. White Scholarship – an academic-based scholarship for female seniors.  Applications are online at www.kappazpb.org or in the Counseling Office.  Deadline:  12/12/09. 

AXA Achievement Scholarship – go to http://www.axa-equitable.com/axa-foundation/AXA-achievement-scholarship.html  for more information and the application.  Deadline:  12/15/09. 

John F. Kennedy, Profile in Courage Essay Contest – information and application are online at www.jfkcontest.org/   Deadline:  1/9/10. 

Gates Millennium Scholars - must be African-American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American, be a citizen/legal permanent resident or national of the U.S., have a GPA of 3.3 or higher on an unweighted 4.0 scale, plan to enter college in fall of 2010, meet financial aid guidelines for the Pell Grant, and have demonstrated leadership abilities through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities that reflect leadership abilities; must be nominated and recommended; see your counselor for further information or go to www.gmsp.org for nomination material.  Deadline:  1/11/10. 

American Welding Society’s Edward J. Brady Memorial Scholarship – more information and the application are online at www.aws.org/w/a/foundation/scholarships/brady.html   Deadline:  1/15/10. 

Asian American Leadership and Educational Conference Scholarship – Applications are online at aalec2010@gmail.com or in the Counseling Office.  Deadline:  1/15/10. 

SAE Engineering Scholarships – for qualified seniors who are interested in the study of engineering and related sciences.  Details of their scholarships and applications are online at http://students.sae.org/awdscholar/scholarships/hsengineering.htm.   Deadline:  1/15/10. 

OP Loftbed Scholarship – information/application are online @  www.oploftbed.com/scholarship/scholarshipapp1.php   Deadline:  1/31/10. 

Texas Student Housing Scholarship – for students that will be attending college in Austin, College Station or Denton, Texas.  You must live in their selected apartment complex and they pay part of the rent.  Looking for academic and leadership excellence.  (Remember – some schools do not let freshmen live off campus.)  Applications are in the Counseling Office.  Deadline:  1/31/10.
