She is the Commander of the Irving Composite Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol, which is the Auxiliary of the USAF. The squadron meets after school in the library.
Her career includes: working in a candy store, working deep nights as a security monitor for SONITROL, working as a volunteer peace officer with the Dallas Sheriff's Department, Wilmer PD, Marshal Creek PD and Garrett PD. She taught four years in Dallas ISD. She has been a librarian with Irving ISD for twenty-three years.
Her hobbies include: being a Boy Scout leader, learning to fly, travel, photography, making paper airplanes, and model rocketry. She is also a Solar System Ambassador with JPL.
