What are the library hours?
8:00 AM – 4:00 pm Monday-Friday
The virtual library is open 24/7.
The virtual library includes the online catalog, and all of the databases that are on the research page. There is a place on the online catalog page where you may e-mail the librarian questions.

Do I need my ID to check out a book?
It is easier if you have your ID. You may still check out a book if you know your number and you are able to prove that you are you.

How long may I keep a book, magazine, or other items that I have checked out?
You may keep it for two weeks and then you need to recheck it out or turn it in.

How do I log onto the library computers?
You use your login and password that you use for your laptop. Even if you do not have a laptop you have a login.

How do I find a book online?

How do I place a hold on a book?
Choose the Place a Hold button. Enter your student number. Enter your pin number. Your pin number is the last four digits of your student number unless you have changed it.

How do I know if my hold book has arrived or if I have books that are overdue?
Choose the patron record button from the MacArthur Online library catalog page. Enter your student number and your pin number. Your pin number is the last four digits of student ID number unless you have changed it. A list will come up with any hold books that have arrived, holds that have not been filled yet, and overdue books. You may renew your books from this screen.

How much does it cost for overdue fines?
We do not charge overdue fines. You will need to pay the replacement price of the book if you lose it. The average book costs 28 dollars.

Do I need a pass to come to the library from a class?
Yes. The pass needs your name, the teacher’s name, and the time. You must also sign the book by the entrance to the library.

Do I need a pass to come to the library during lunch?
No, but you need to go straight to the library during the passing period. You may not leave the cafeteria to go to the library. You may not leave the library to go back to the cafeteria.

May I eat or drink in the library?
No. Food and drink are the enemies of computers and books. There will be special occasions throughout the year that are an exception to this rule.

How much does it cost to print off of the library printers?
Printing is free, but it must be for class.

How much does it cost use the copy machine?
It costs 15 cents per copy. We do not have change for the machine and the machine does not take dollar bills.

Do you have a coffee machine in the library?
Yes. Students may get coffee before or after school. The coffee costs 50 cents per cup. We do not have change for the machine and it does not take paper money.

How do I print from my laptop in the library?
You may save your document to your H drive. Log off of your laptop. Log on to a desktop. Print it off of your H drive.
