Suck it up, it’s normal

During colonial life most people lived in log cabins. Log cabins usually had only  one room, which a included a door and no windows.

Daily task for the colonists consisted of:

·          Preparing fuel for the forge

·          Making lumber for new houses

·          Making post holes for fences

·          Drying reeds for thatching

·          Candle making for the night

Food usually came from whatever was grown in the garden in which the women worked

·          Herbs, which came from the gardens, were used in food and as medicine

·          Their stove was the fire place

·          People only drank beer and wine, because most local water was contaminated

·          Fresh milk was also avoided and was instead used for making butter and cheese which lasted longer

During colonial life it was forbidden to work on Sundays

·          Sundays people went to “the meeting house” for religion purposes
