Title: Elmo’s Happy Time (Voicemail Message)

Category: digitized audio
Grade Level: 6-8
Description: Mrs. Renick assigned a project where we had to create a voicemail message for a character. We studied characters and character traits. Then we wrote a script showing character traits and tried to actually sound like the character we had picked. Then we used a laptop computer and went to Audacity to record our voicemail message. It was hard to get into character and sound like the character, but after we practiced we got it right. Also, it was hard to not laugh but after we practiced without looking at each other we were able to record better. We learned how to record our message with a microphone and then recorded the message many times until we came up with the best one. When we finished our message, we saved it to our H drive and then submitted it to Mrs. Renick’s Blackboard account.

Intro / outtro music would greatly enhance this podcast. Original piece!

I think this is a very creative project. I would have like to have seen better editing with some dead air time included. I do feel that the "message" was very creative and appropriate.

Cute idea to create a voice mail for a character. Try to use two elements next time.

This is a cute, engaging subject for your audio entry. Next time, add music or another sound effect to your voice. (Like a beep of an answering machine, Sesame Street theme in the background). Good work and thank you for sharing!!
