Title: Muscle Boy Song

Category: digitized audio
Grade Level: adult
Description: Muscle Boy was a song I wrote and produced by rewriting the lyrics from the original song “Soulja Boi- Crank That” written by Soulja Boi. “Soulja Boi” is a popular rap song. I found the Soulja Boi lyrics online and pasted them into a word document. I then typed my new lyrics to Muscle Boy in a column beside the Soulja Boi lyrics so I could differentiate the voice afflictions and annunciations. I use the instrumental version of Soulja Boi (just the music, no lyrics) to sing Muscle Boy to. I played the music through a headset as I used a voice recorder to record my voice as I sang the lyrics I had written to Muscle Boy. After several takes, I had enough audio voice recorded that I could splice together. Using Audacity, I uploaded the recorded voice and was able to splice the voice clips together to match the music. I put the voice and music into audacity and edited as needed. Once the voice and music were matched up, I produced and finalized the song. I created this project to enhance the learning of muscles for students. At Lively Elementary, we teach all the students the muscles mentioned in the Muscle Boy song as well as bones. I thought this would be a way to get there attention by putting learning to music they enjoy and know. I want others to learn these major muscles, both adults and students. I think general anatomy is important to know and understand. I want others to be able to use this song to teach students these most common muscles.

Very clever and I'm guessing students will enjoy learning their muscles! What about copyright?

A very creative idea in order to teach the names of muscles. Unfortunately your audio went over the time limit.

This is a very creative way to teach students parts of the body and the importance of working out and staying fit. Some of the lyrics and music don't mix well and at times it sounds a bit awkward. Overall though, it's a well done project.
