| Description: I took this picture at the Fort Worth Zoo. I took a lot of pictures that day and liked this one in particular. While I was at the zoo I learned that animals come in all shapes, and sizes, and colors. I liked these birds the best because they were so colorful! This picture makes me smile because these birds look like they have a sense of humor! I used my Canon Digital Rebel to take this picture. After I put the picture on the computer I opened it up in Picasa. I cropped the picture and used the sharpen tool. I like how the birds are in focus, and the background is out of focus. I learned that that in photography timing and patience are both very important. It takes a while to take a good picture, that's why we have to stay patient. I want others to learn to never to give up and still have fun! |

Excellent and thorough entry description. You did a great job explaining your post imaging process and reasoning. Indeed you have clearly achieved sufficient background blur or "bokeh" You have also created a unique moment when both birds have their heads tilted which captures the universal theme of "curiosity." Capturing these themes and catching these moments is what photography is all about. Try to make your original image as tight as possible so that you can minimize cropping as much as necessary. You take great photos and may someday want to make large prints out of them; avoiding the needed to crop allows you to maximize your pixels and image quality. Great job! |
