| Description: The photo was taken using a Canon 4 digital camera then digitally enhanced using Photoshop. It was taken at approximately 1:30 in March on a bright, sunny day as part of a digital photography safari at the Frank Buck Zoo in Gainsville. The sky was a crystal blue and the trees were just budding. It was my first time using a digital camera and the software to enhance it. I had to crop and digitally erase several buildings and power lines in the photo and bumped up the contrast in an effort to make the photo look like an Ansel Adams picture. The light streaming though the trees was not evident to the naked eye but came burting out while using the software. I took the photgraph in an effort to better understand how light would appear in a digital camera. I hope to show others that they can bring an artistic image into their own homes if they only try. While the photo is not great art it is something unique, personal and a project of which I am proud. |
