900 Title: The Badge Witch Project Category: video 90sec-3min Grade Level: 11-12 Description: Not long after the beginning of school a new and improved badge movement began. All of us in Second Period Viking View felt that after our success with the "SAW" video, and with Mr. Nolly pressing badges harder than ever, we needed another one. Following our horror themed badge videos we selected "The Blair Witch Project" as our next spoof. One cold, and excessively bright day we all set up our shoot in the Japanese Garden behind our school. Using our digital movie camera (and several badges as props) we began to shoot. As soon as we finished Chris, Tawny, and I used the camera to create some special sounds and headed inside to begin the editing process. Using one of our fire wire’s we uploaded the video and noises to my computer. Over the next couple of days we used Windows Movie Maker to edit and complete Second Period Viking Views: "The Badge Witch Project". Throughout the course of editing a video you learn how to make cuts, add sounds or effects, and overlap music with voices. You work hard and watch your list of random shots grow into an entertaining video. With each step you make in your film, you grow a little as an editor and director. |
