Base Pairing Activity
Objective: The student(s) will play a game that requires them to correctly pair each nitrogen base on a strand of DNA.
Procedure:
1. Have the students access the
Double Helix Game website.
2. Student will be expected to pretend to be a DNA polymerase and match the appropriate bases.
3. Afterwords they will copy down the number of chromosomes, base pairs and genes.
4. Using that information they will determine what type of organism they are looking at.
5. If they get it right they will have a high score. If they get it wrong the score will be low.
