Concept of Definition Map

Objective:  Students will be able to understand the meaning of important speech terms, such as stereotyping, orator, communication, barrier.

Procedure: 
1.  Students will be given a word to define.
2.  Show students sample presentation, Concept of Definition Map.
2.  Students will first put the word being defined in the middle circle.
3.  Students will fill in the category that the word fulfills in the square at the top, such as speech term, math term, history term, etc...
4.  In the three squares on the right, students will answer the question "From reading what is the word like?". For example, if the word was speech, students may decide that it is like talking, communicating, etc...
5.  In the bottom three squares, students will give an example of the word. Again, if the word was speech somebody may give an example of an actual speech.
6.  Lastly, students will give an antonym and synonym of the word in the oval on the left.
7.  The students will present the word in a digital presentation.
