Waves on a String

Objective:  Watch a string vibrate in slow motion. Wiggle the end of the string and make waves, or adjust the frequency and amplitude of an oscillator. Adjust the damping and tension. The end can be fixed, loose, or open.

Procedure:  Students will follow the instructions on the handout, using the Waves on a String Simulation.  If you don't like this particular activity, teachers have created many different handouts to go with this simulation.  You can find them here.
