more about the Persian Gulf War (Desert Storm) and make
connections to the present Iraqi war and how it connects
to their life today. |

Tracking Gandhi |
Students will follow the life of Gandhi to gain an
understanding of what influenced him to become a leader and a
revolutionary. |

3 Gorges Dam |
Examine China’s construction of the 3 Gorges Dam and understand the following
1. The enormous Three Gorges Dam is now being constructed in China on the upper Yangtze River.
2. The dam will benefit many people, but
it may also cause serious problems.
3. Dams are built according to complex principles of
engineering. |

Conflict With a Line |
Students will learn more about North and South Korea
and the differences
and conflicts between them. They will make
inferences for solutions to the problems between North and South Korea.
They will learn more about North and South Korea's relationships
with the U.S. and the rest of the world.

Aboriginal Studies Webquest |
Students will study the the issue of whether the Australian Government
should make a formal apology to the indigenous people of Australia and
compose a letter of opinion to the Prime Minister of Australia to report
their findings. The apology has recently been offered, so students may
determine if they think it was the right thing to do. |

New World Influences on Asia |
This lesson focuses on the impact of new goods, ideas, and technology on a region. Most students know that many Asian inventions, such as the
compass, saddle, and gunpowder, have changed the course of world history. This lesson encourages students to learn about the impact of New World crops and Western technology on
Asia, specifically China and Japan. Students will collaborate to research the history and implications of trade and write about and present their findings. |
