The Pride of Nimitz High
Whether in volleyball, tennis, softball, basketball, soccer, track and field, swimming, cheerleading, gymnastics, drill team, or golf, the Lady Vikings are always pushing themselves to new limits. The women's athletic program constantly displays the competitive edge that is promoted within all Viking sports. With the wide variety of sports that Nimitz offers, every girl can find her niche in the world of athletics. Participation in athletics not only allows a physical release from the day to day school work but also allows the student to learn how to efficiently push themselves in all aspects of life. Nimitz High School encourages involvement in all extracurricular activities with some students playing on more than one sports team at school. With all the sports competition and involvement, school spirit is promoted to new, higher levels. Excellence and dedication are common themes throughout Nimitz High School, and the Lady Viking athletic program is no different.

What Defines The Lady Vikes?
The Nimitz Lady Vikes use their skills to support school spirit by showing endurance and excellence on the court, field and in the classroom.   They always make sure to decorate the hallways with their smiles and ignite the volleyball courts with killer spikes, the tennis courts with fierce serves, and the softball field with big hits. Another trait of these marvelous athletes is their ability to constantly improve. Although change does not always come smoothly, our athletes at Nimitz work hard at all times and make it look easy. Under new staff, such as head volleyball coach Susan K. and head girls basketball coach Donald S., the Lady Vikes set the stage for the future with positive transition seasons while other great teams at Nimitz work to stay on top. Teams like the Lady Viking Softball and Tennis teams continue to display dominance over their opponents with their stellar records, consistent postseason appearances, and exceptional work ethic.

Character, Class, Courage and Commitment
Determination, dedication, and perseverance – all describe the power that drives Nimitz's Women's Athletics. We see young women striving for the best at Nimitz, and they will stop at nothing in order to achieve their goals. The young ladies who participate in the athletics programs are hard-working and enthusiastic. They show pride in their school, and they work hard to uphold Nimitz pride. The camaraderie they exhibit on and off the field is essential and flows into every aspect of the sports they play. Lady Vikings unite in a unique and friendly way, which spreads the Nimitz silver and blue spirit into the Viking students and faculty. Both the coaches and athletes feel their teams moving into a positive direction, and they see improvement in the future. The leadership these ladies display affects the whole Nimitz community, and it empowers young ladies throughout the school to step up and become more.
